The guys at the bar, and the bartender were nice, but it didn’t really feel like an open mic night. It’s not that I’m looking for the pretentious sycophancy of a “coffee shop” environment, just a little engagement from the audience. Not sure I’ll go back to this one.
Comments
- Called to check sign-up time: 7pm, starts at 8pm.
- About a mile from the subway.
- Arrived at 7:15pm to sign up and the place was dead aside from a few friendly locals.
- Sound guy arrived at 8:30pm and had trouble getting the mics working.
- Other performers started to arrive around 8:45pm.
- 9pm I helped the sound guy fix the mic problems – bad mic and channel on the desk.
- Four songs, went first, started playing at 9:15pm.
- Noisy and seemingly disinterested room.
